We were driving down the highway and car compressed and like braked had a smell like wire smell pulled over and and track control and abs light and contact dealer came on put new battery in still the same any ideas currently waiting for tow truck

A flat battery doesn’t cause things like that.

A scan tool will need to be connected to see what codes have been logged.

The Dealers wanted to sell a old battery for full price, Typical trick they use. all they want is your money. What do you mean the "car compressed"?

I think a wire may have shorted out/burnt and had an instant engine shutdown.
