help with doing the harmonic balancer bolt

How do i do a harmonic balancer when it is Auto-trans

:S the harmonic balancer dosent change throught manual and auto,, its on the front of the engine and means taking off the necesary accesories and fan and possibly removing the radiator unless you have the correct tools to get to it.

lol as in to do iut up tight? has it go the sump on it? and is it still onteh engine stand? if its got teh sump off it i would jam teh crank using a suitable bit of wood or plastic, NOTHING metalic or such.

umm have you tried using a long braker bar and hitting it with ya palm so it does it up faster than the engine spins?

put the car in gear with the handbrake on and then tighten it up.....

that wont work with an AUTO-trans

Trick of the week coming
take a look at how an oil filter strap works, then get an old drive belt wrap it around the balancer doubling back on itself & hook the loop you are left with around the ac compressor pulley
get the biggest breaker bar you can and do up the bolt.has to be about 350 nm so dont be shy with it. reverse the belt to undo the bolt.
i will do a pic to make it easier to understand.
if you get stuck just look at an oil filter strap ok, really easy.

well you could try putting it in park with the handbrake on and doing it up, that should also work...
