vu ss ute
own a vu ss gen 3 auto with 110k. did oil change and was told use 10w30 penzzoil mineral oil. did that and it was using oil like it was going out of fashion!! then got told to change to penrite hpr30 20w60. did that now engine sounds rattly. cant hear rattles normally but when under the car and its running its obvious. starting to get to me!!! any ideas would help as this is getting ridiculous :bang::bang::bang:

well the second part of the oil code eg 10w30 mean the viscosity or thickness of the oil if you put a 20w60 in it it means its thick and wont get around the engine properly and this will cause your lifters to stick and this would that the noise your hearing but if you use a oil thats a bit thiner it could leak slighty into the cylinder and get burnt and this is were all the oil is going. if you go on the shell website or call them up you can type in your car model and they will tel you the oil code your car came out with orignaly the code is the same with every brand
