Did you really come to a stop and take off or were you flying up to the intersection slammed the brakes on cause you were too hot and hit the curb? That would be easier to believe of that damage at only 10klms .

The welding is completly split in half on the top of the strut tower about 20 cm long, i know it's broken because the other strut tower has the welding there and i think the cars bent too. But still drives normal =)

So you can physically see metal, the actual weld? It should be painted over.

You & ucwepn should both know my VT has the exact same issue on both of my strut towers. Both are the length of the strut tower itself if not slightly longer, it's not cracked metal both are cracked sealer.

Stick a sharp metal object into where the crack is & you should see it's not metal.

I don't have any pics of the tower but the metal was torn on mine.

you can see how the wheel is sitting and how the guard had moved and torn some of the mounting holes.

below pic is the repaired area the torn bit was where the red line is

Ive had to do this once before mate and you should buy all NEW bolts for the K-frame and make sure to Torque every bolt, the workshop manual book has the correct torque figures

You will find that is not metal, seriously go & put a solid sharp piece of metal into the "weld" & you will see that it's a resin that could be scraped away. It is not a weld!

The metal is spot welded further down where you can't see it, the seam is just filler. If the tower gets bashed inwards far enough the weld might come away, but usually it's just the sealer. The metal can bend a quite a bit before the weld will break.

Well this just sucks! I'm hearing the K frame needs to be aligned (with some sort of special tool) once installed....is this true???? Thought it was plug and play!
