i had just recently done a flush of radiator, engine and i guess its the heater too. Followed off a thread on this forum. Just noticed the top hose going from the heater that connects to the side of the motor has really expanded and looks like its going to burst when the car heats up. It is slowly going down as the car cools down. Any suggestions to what could be wrong? Do i need a new hose?

Hoses generally perish from the inside to the outside, so I would say yes, you need a new hose.

Is it the hose that goes to the heater or is it the return hose?

I had a bulging hose for a few weeks but I replaced it pretty quick, with one from Spares Box. I had coolant leaks at the time though so it wasn't getting up to full pressure. Not sure if it would have burst if it did have full pressure. I've only ever had a hose split around the clamp.

Here is a pic. Looks like number 4. Copy to smart phone and show suppler. (it is a VS?)
Both hoses go to heater tap. If you get one hose buy 2 new clamps.

As Gossie mentioned, do ALL the hoses. That exact hose is what killed my last engine. It split just on the bend and dumped all the coolant straight onto the road. No steam, gauge only sat at 3/4, so didnt think too much of it. Good opportunity to change the thermostat at the same time :)
