I just did a quick little google and one site said $3k to $6k.
The next one said $4.7 to $5k with the average just over $5.1k installed after installer has claimed the government rebate on your behalf.
The first one did mention lots of variables= like better/dearer parts verious cheaper .
Also there would be site suitability=some more/or/less expense.
I just spent a few minutes looking for my receipts=more to confirm when I got it installed=no luck.
Mine's a little ol system = 2.4 kw = guessing 10/11 years old.
My HWS is on Off Peak 2 = so guessing( how I interpreted electos explanation) over 3/4 of the day when low demand phases in and out will heat HWS .
So guessing that means my panels help heat the HWS.
Hopefully get another 5+ years out off and then hopefully a another system with battery storage.
What will piss me off is gov/companies are talking of charging people for putting power back into the grid=YOU DIRTY LITTLE FXXKERS= IF YOU DO THIS!!!
What kind of F'ed up nonsense idea is that, charging people for supplying power to the grid? LoL lol lol. The lunatics are trying to get control of the asylum.
I don't give Aussie Albo much credit overall but I don't think he would let that nonsense fly.

No it won’t. Off peak is a seperate circuit so it doesn’t offset against your solar power. The only way to make your solar heat the water is to either have the tank hooked up to standard rate electricity (so you self consume during the day heating the hot water) or have a dual element tank with one element on off peak power and the other element on standard power (standard power element offsets against your solar).

You can also directly hook one element to your solar but that requires some electric box wizardry which costs quite a bit.

OK ,I'm not paying big bills. Also just missed that opportunity for a dual element HWS , so will live with .
All shxt to think of to maybe change when renew/ current solar system shxts itself.

naaah.. spend $100 more and get one with a stainless steel tank!

All (Rheem, Dux etc) do them and you should get at least

Just had a look at pricing on my Reece account.
Rheem 250l 3.6kw S/Steel single element - $1,373.00 incl GST
Everhot 250l 3.6kw S/Steel single element - $1,373.00 incl GST

Rheem 250l 3.6kw glass lined steel cyl single element - $1,278.50 incl GST
Everhot 250l 3.6kw glass lined steel cyl single element - $1,094.00 incl GST
Dux Proflo 250l 3.6kw glass lined steel cyl single element - $1,311.50 incl GST
Thermann 250l 3.6kw glass lined steel cyl single element - $1,072.00 incl GST

Almost forgot Aquamax which is another brand from the Rheem stable
Aquamax 250l 3.6kw glass lined steel cyl single element - $1,298.00 incl GST

All prices have been rounded.
Cannot find any price listings for DUX or Thermann 250 litre stainless steel models however I may just not be using the correct key words in the search engine.
Can't say I've ever seen dux/therman do one but those are the brands I stay away from

Let me see now, Reece, never could afford their prices and hence bought very little from them and had to have plenty of grease for when I HAD to buy one of their flush assemblies for their overpriced toilet cisterns.

I just made one phone call to my closest Plumbing Supplies, small business called North Coast Plumbing (4 stores I think) who are 10 minutes walk from me and here are their prices over the phone.
I don't buy much and don't have an account.

Rheem 250L glass lined 3.6 element $1200 incl gst (Reece from DaveSV6 $1278) Difference $78
Rheem 250L Stainless 3.6 element $1261 incl gst ( Reece $1373) Difference $112

Dux 250L glass lined 3.6 element $1161 (Reece $1311.50) Difference $150.50
Aquamax 250L glass lined 3.6 element $820 incl gst ( Reece $1298) Difference $478
