wtf is super super super low king spring??? non-existent is what they are...theres super low, super super low (which is the same as ultra low) and thats it. thats the lowest they make.

Yeah hey! He have a new town idiot... lol

Never a good idea to talk about things you clearly have no idea about... lol

The term "ultra low" is very loose... go to some places asking for ultra low and you will get SSL springs, other places will give you SSSL springs.

Best to just know the part number your after and NOT listen to VH commodore apparently :p

front yes.. rear no.

I would have said front no... rear no...

The spring is designed to work correctly with the amount of coils its made with. Cut coils of and BEST case scenario is you will be slamming bump stops on every pebble you drive over.

Worst case scenario you wrap yourself around a pole.... after driving over a pebble.

I'd also like to know, how much has everyone spent on lowering their commodore? Is it still as comfy as ever to drive...

i do say no to both, but i was implying that it is not possible to cut the rear due to the shape of them however the fronts are shaped in such a way that they are able to be cut. i agree, say no to cutting springs unless you are a bogan in a VN

I thought it was abit out of character for you to be condoning spring cutting...lol

But yeah...

Ride comfort... hehe... if you go SSSL there is none...

Plus you will need to get decent stiff shocks so its not like having pogo sticks in the back.

For example.

I had SSSL rear and SL front in my old VX... there was a road that had a really bumpy patch going around a round about... Looked abit like i was filming a porno in my car or something....

I now have a 1989 BMW and I can't even feel the bumps on that same round about...

^^^ I also wouldb't suggest putting SSSL in the front as its a hard ride on a spring that doesn't exist... :p

JUST TO CLEAR THINGS UP!

The lowest VT - VZ spring for the front IN THE KINGS RANG is a SSL part KHFL-47SSL
The lowest VT - VZ spring for the rear IN THE KINGS RANG is a SSSL part KHRL-46SSSL

the above springs (including a SSL rear spring) are all considered show car springs.

Ideally when using thse springs you need shortened bump stops on the front, shaved stops on the rear and struts and shocks to suit.

A camber kit is a MUST for the rear in the above cases as you will chew through tyres like there is no tomorrow.

The tyre wear will get WORSE the lower profile your tyre is. So if your running 18's and above your gonna be very good mates with your local tyre seller.

I would forget king springs all together, they are a rubbish quality spring, they have a high manufacturers fault rating, use Lovells - much higher grade, and u will find that suspension shops that know what they are doing will recommend them.
I spent $1200.00 on my suspension set up. I got a full set of clubby springs and had them reset to a my liking height. Purchased a fully adjustable camber kit(A MUST for 19" and above rims) to get even wear of the tyres, and had the front caster bushes re done, she handles amazing! Especially under braking, around round abouts, and general weaving in and out of lanes on the freeway, all in all responsiveness from the steering wheel is amazing.
I wanted to go lower in the front end, so i am getting shortened front shocks soon and then will reset the front springs again to avoid riding on bumpstops and killing the chasis, strut tower etc. Which will probably set me back another $800.00 or so :D

Go down to your local suspension specialist, i highly recommend the "Sunshine Suspension Centre" in Melbourne, award winning people for both service and products, probably australias leading independent suspension specialists. Speak to them, work out a budget, and get her sitting flush.

Just dont take short cuts i.e. Angle grinders, bags of cement, "Just put king springs bro you'll be fully sick", the suspension set up of a car is such a vital component of how your entire car behaves on the road, get it done right and you'll love your holden for ever.
