If its a 98 like you name indicates its a series 1 they updated to series 2 in 99

Looking at your your car I'd guess Series 2, but it could very well be a modified Series 1. I think the VIN number is your best bet.

The only thing that gives me real pause is 1) you say it is a 98 and 2) the side skirt appears to be an aftermarket one and thus it may have been modified beyond that.

I understand your confusion it REALLY looks like a Series 2.

Is there any documentation that came with the car, a service history? Might give you some clues.

i'd give your local holden dealer a ring and find out for sure, its not that hard to make a s1 look like an s2, its only taillights, side repeaters and a badge

What date was your car manufactured? Check the stamp under the hood (near passenger headlight I think) and it will tell you a month and year, then we can base it from there

Check the tare weight on the rego too, the Berlina S2 was 1555kg. I don't know what the series 1 Berlina weighed, but in the executive, the series 2 was 39kg''s lighter.

^^ the H and S in the VIN is the engine type. H = the V6 and S = Super Charged engine.

Year of M/F

97 = V
98 = W
99 = X
00 = Y
01 = 1
