How do i fit the strut brace??

i bought on e exactly the same off ebay, i didnt realise i didnt have the holes either, but i was thinking, instead of drilling holes and stuffing around with the shockers, i was just going to get it welded on, the plates that is, as you can still remove the actual bar id you need to work on the motor.
good or bad idea?

I think bolts would be neater. You would have to re-paint the welded parts otherwise it will rust.
