How do I install Rear Map lights in my vx exec??

Hi guys..

My roof lining has **** itself, so i thought while i'm at it why not install the rear map lights, courtesy lights whatever you want to call them..
But how do it do it??
What type of wiring loom do i need??
Do i need to buy a new dome light aswell??
A few of these forums have confused me just a tad and i can't find a simple answer!

this is an easy one splice into the original loom

the rear lights have 3 spade connectors of different sizes

the large one goes to positive orange/black
the smallest goes to ground black/blue
the middle size one goes to door trigger yellow/blue

thanks & the purple one?? got the wiring loom out of a calais... i can see the wiring is in a different order too..

the purple wire doesn't apply to the exec as the dome light only has 4 wire
and the loom should have the different size connectors just wire it as i posted

the light gray wire next to the black/blue is internally connected to the yellow/blue and provides lights on when you unlock the car

figured it out. worked first attempt took note of what wires were were in the originial exec loom and then rearranged the calais loom accordingly & sliced the purple wire in with the black... lights come on when the doors open and do everything that they should do


Could of taken a better picture but oh well.. working courtsey lights and new roof lining

i'm wanting to do the same thing with my VT and I know it's a stupid question but I had a quick look the other day and was wanting to know if to get the kick panels off to access the loom do I need to remove the lower parts of the dash?
