Probably a lame question, but I can't for the life of me work out a way to get the headrests off the front seats of my VZ. I've worked out how to make them go up and down but that's it. I pulled the foam down next to the metal rod and found a little black clip which I tried pinching with some needle nose pliers but it didn't really do anything useful. Can anyone offer me any ideas?

from what i heard u have to take the whole back part off to reach in from underneath and there are retaining clips on the inside holding them in.

Luckily that is not the case. I dropped in to Heartland Holden in Castle Hill and asked the question, and found that you need a paper clip to do it. There is a tiny hole in the plastic bit on the side that you slip a paper clip into (or similar), then press in the plastic clip that moves it up and down on the other side and they pop straight off!

I know this is an old tread and all, but good information is good information no matter how old it is. Saved me a lot of frustration today, who would have thought humble paper clip would save the day. New DVD head rest in and now I need to vind a good system to drive them and a audio specialist to install.
