87 VL Calais Turbo
Hey JC, its been a while!

Im looking at buying a VL turbo but i have about 6-7 months till i get off my P's. Just wondering what kind of a job im in for to remove the turbo and make the car drivable?

If someone could tell me what has to be done and whats involved so i can work out costs, ect before buying.

Id like if you didnt tell me to wait it out because here is the situation:
I do not have a car at the moment, only a motorcycle. Im sick of the cold/wet weather and want to buy a car. I want a VL when im off my P's but dont think its really worth buying a car now the re-buying another car in 6 months.

Thanks in advance!!!

Just wait. It's not as simple as just pulling off the turbo away you go.

Remove manifold, turbo, oil/water lines (put bolts in the block to bung this up)

You'll need to get a N/A intake pipe and airbox.

Bolt up some headers/extractors or a N/A exhaust manifold.

Put in N/A ECU and fuel injectors (requires removal of the fuel rail and top half of plenum).

There you go... It'll also run really piss weak due to the lower compression.

Yea it seems so much harder to find a nice looking NA VL though :(

I just got offered an R33 skyline for my bike, do i enter the darkside? haha

Seems like a fairly decent job for the removal, hmm...

Not a hard job to remove it... Injectors are cheap ( i have some here just need new hosetails) ive just done the conversion from non turbo to turbo..... stil pretty simple.

I'd get a N/A VL turbo (higher compression engine) or a N/A non turbo vl that you can turbo after you get off your p's.

hmmmmmm if u strip your A8 block to run it as an N/A it will b a pig as in low comp, no torque/poke... so either source a nice N/A and upgrade when the time comes. there r some nice N/A about man do some shopping, find a calais man..
if i were u grab the turbo, rebuild it for when u can have some fun in it and have a cheap daily... (harder to impress the sex c chickas though LOl)

depends on your cash flow though
