missus (in more ways than one)
nah nothing like that, i drive it hard but me suspects it's running rather rich. i have an air/fuel gauge sitting here to wack in, and an adjustable fuel pressure reg, so those two combined and i'll see if i can knock down the numbers a bit,
but yeah i just filled up my car with 39lt's of fuel, and my trip odo (always reset after filling up read 215k's so 215 / 100 = 2.15 ~ 39 / 2.15 = 18.13lt's per a hundred k's. i should have bought a pirus
the things only a v6 with full exhaust and intake, goes good thou

Last week I got 460km out of 48 litres of fuel.
thus 100/460x48=10.4 litres per hundred KM.

I drive from Lara to Melbourne daily so Im on 100k pretty much 60% on the trip in and 90% on the trip home as the traffic flows faster. I go through 2 set of traffic lights each way my workplace is pretty much on a freeway exit.
I have a v6 vp wagon with 170k and its original/stock standard apart from the radio and seat covers!
I don't carry anything in my car either.

To calculate your fuel usage you don't need to empty your tank.
Just fill it each time to the very top of the tank then you reset your trip meter.
Then next time you fill you look at your odometer and write it down on your fuel receipt.
Take home to your pc and then 100 / km traveled x litres consumed
= fuel consumption per hundred Km
hope this helps
cheers rileyp

Lets do some simple maths. You've got a 63L tank. Lets assume you fill up when you have give or take 8 litres remaining. Then you put in $15 which would give you another 9 liters. So you got 550ks out of approx 64 litres.

550km's/100 = 5.5

64L/5.5 = 11.6 Litres per 100kms

If you think thats thirsty with suburban driving then you need a little 4 cylinder. Not a commodore.

Go put a 2.5" exhaust on the car if you want but you may well find your economy in local suburban driving become worse. The reason is you lose the back pressure needed to get the car moving so on take off you're actually using more fuel. Cruising on an open hwy you may save 0.2L per 100ks but it'll be years before you recoup the cost of the exhaust if any saving at all.

100% agree, that is GOOD economy from a VP, i wouldnt be complaining about that at all, if so. Sell it and buy a barina
