I'm calm dude. It's a Skyline, what was the boost attached to? An old pushrod operated and cast V6 that spent 8 years and 160k as a family hauler? Any engine that can operate at more than double the horses, cop an absolute flogging (as far as mechanical sympathy floggings go) and put down nearly a couple of years as a daily sounds like it belongs in the hall of fame too.

Either way, boost your smokey diesel 14 pound and give it a hard life for 40k, then come back to me. Who gives a **** about a stock diesels life, no crap they can go forever, so can a stock L27 or 36.

40,000km is running in k's for a diesel.

Just fyi my Cruiser is aftermarket turbo.

Running approx 10psi

Had the turbo fitted at 232,000km in 2008

Now has 321,000km

So that's 90,000km, 6 years and boosted the power figure at all 4 wheels by over 30kw.

Now, you were saying?

Thing is with old diesels, particularly Japanese 4WDs, they don't get taken off the road coz blowing smoke or rattling, stink like nothing else and no such thing as a particulate filter.
Yeah they run forever, for sure. Doesn't mean they should be on the fricken road!

Yay I want to play as well! 145,000K's on mine, 100% more power than stock, had 20+psi down it's throat for the last 80,000k's hasn't missed a beat.

Was speaking to a couple of engine builders lately who said most modern performance engines are over-engineered by a factor of two - able to safely handle 100% power increase without much modification.
Wankinsure honour the GenIV drivetrain warranty with >50% power increase at 100,000km through 170,000km.

The way of the world, import it like all the other manufacturers.
