how many k's out of the vn/vp/vr engine.

hey guys, iv got a vn that had done 400 000kms, i didnt buy it, it was dads car years ago, its been sitting around for a few years, but always started and run for a while. There has been no problems the 10years dad has had it, no breakages at all the only thing being the air con (not a big problem), i was just wondering how many km's has your buik engines have done and also is it worth gettin re-registed at that many km's. It is in good condition and i rekon worth doing up. I know some of these engines can last for alot more km's but yeh just checking because it is a way better car then my S**T pulsar i have at the moment.

mate just do it. the engine aint gonna die on ya any time soon aslong as u keep it in check, and as u said.... it is better than ur pulsar lol

mines about to clock 500 kms...... doesnt smoke - use oil or water and runs as smooth as any other v6 thats done a quarter of the ks mine has

yeah mines done near 520 000 and still no smoke, oil or anything

they are a pretty strong motor i think (but still gunna rebuild it later)

Ive heard of the buick engines doing a lot of kms... One thing to check is the gearbox.

As mentioned though, if something goes wrong parts are dirt cheap.

Its kinda nice to know these cars can do 500,000kms+, especially as mines only done 138,000kms .

Well my vn has done both, 1 trip to sydeny, 2 trips to darwin, not to mention a few years in brisbane.

do it man even if does need a rebuild it doesnt cost that much:thumbsup:

i know its fairly easy to find out but how much is a rebuild and i know that basics of it but in full what does it consist of, and are they new parts or recon. parts.
