Just interested in knowing how much P.S.I an rb30 can handle before internal mods are needed?

And what would be the best turbo for the job?

really depends man... i have heard of unopened blocks making crazy power numbers.... good tune, good head studs, fuel system, oil pump, etc.... the bottom ends are tough in the rb30 mate... depends if A6 or A8 block as well,,,, as compression ratios are slightly different...... (User Cracker will have a better idea as he builds some good Rb30's)

a6 is running higher comp pistons and a different profile cam

a8 runs low comp pistons

plenty of people have made huge power with a6 motors. but have big fuel systems to back it up and excellent tuning

^^^ as said above.... A6 Is an N/A Block
A8 is a turbo block...

not too much difference between blocks...

Pistons are lower compression meaning they are cut out more on the dish to make them 7.8-1 apposed to NA being 9.0-1

Left = Turbo...... Right N/A

Higher Volume oil pump
Cam has extra 5 Degrees for Exhaust.
Turbo Injectors(Bigger Pulse Width/flow rate) and intake plenum is different
Also has a Knock Sensor
Need turbo ecu to run Knock circuit and Injectors....
