How do i adjust the timing on my vp auto it is running to fast and when I take my foot of the break at the lights of in traffic it takes of like a bat out of hell what do i need to do???

by timing do you mean the idle speed? my guess would be throttle somehow stuck open a bit or not closing completly maybe?

Or the Idle control valve has some carbon built up in it and is sticking open...

Try a ECU Reset via Disconnecting the battery for 5 mins then reconnecting it and Starting the car and holding the revs at 3000rpm for 30 sec.

Also as Mischa Said could be the TB Butterfly held open do a Visual inspection see if its stuck or not...

Also with the visual check the Throt Cable isnt cought up or the nuts havnt come loose or somthing like that.
