how to get speedo working with new gearbox

so i have just put a t350 gearbox in my wh stato and cant work out how to get the speedo to work so if anyone has done it or knows how to please help urgently

you probably need a pulse type t700 earlier model speed sensor .

^^^ lol, with responses like that your not gonna get much help mate.

i think he is right though. you probably need a pulse sender. for my impala i bought a cruise control kit and am going to splice into the pulse signal from the VSS included in the kit.

i say probably because i have never done it, markovr doesnt have a WH so i assume he has never done it, so just remember we could be wrong.

I had a issue with the speedo on my conversion of my 82 vh v6 with turbo 700 (same speedo drive setup as a turbo 350) but I used a generic 2 pulse generator at the gearbox and it replaced the 10 pulse unit that was factory....the vn to vs speedo heads divide the 10 pulse by 5 to get 2 pulses for the speedo to read and the ecm to read.I got all the necessary stuff from lionel ottos speedo service at salsibury in brisbane and they have had plenty of experience with conversions.
Your old speedo sendor would have had a magnetic pickup type of speed sensor that doesnt have any gears just reads the pulses from a notched wheel attached to output shaft that runs close to a sensor...
