most of the time it's only one fitting that is a biatch so it works.

I know a bloke who did that centy, and then used the same ring spanner to tighten the hose fittings again when he was done.

Can you see where he went wrong? :p

Didn't go wrong at all. Duct tape the spanner to the strut or something else, and save it for next time!;)

another way if you can get the other end off is to put a ring spanner over the other end of the pipe and follow the pipe up till you are at the nut.

Isn't that the pipe for the rear brakes? Following that back up to the master cylinder would be lots of fun :) .

WD-40 and a nice tap to jar the thread, that should do it

Only one spanner you'd think! Its not like theres hundreds of those types of connections in an engine bay!

Spanners are cheap. :p It's the added weight from all that chrome vanadium steel that would concern me.

One spanner for each brake line (2 for ones that you can't get all the way through), for each car that you have(i've got 3), that would be a few spanners.
