Hi

I have bought some second hand ROH arrow rims which do not fit on my VN series 1 executive commodore but all specs and research I have done says they should.

whats happening is that when I put them on the front passenger side (the only one I have tried) the grease cap pushes the center cap out of the rim and the tyres themselves hit the springs before they are even fully over the thread.

the rims are 18x8's with a 45P offset.

They tyres are 245/45zr18 96W I know these are oversized but I was told they came off a commodore so just figured they would fit until im finished working on the car and get them changed before I get the roadworthy.

the rims just seem like they are really deep from behind which is causing the problem.

Thanks for the help

Sell them and buy some that fit.

They will not be legal, the offset is out of whack.

Some idiot probably had a great big spacer on them or something.

sounds like the same clearance issue when fitting say VS series 3 caprice wheels onto a vn-vp-vg-vq. The bearing cap pushes the centre cap off the wheel.
Some rims you can get away with flattening the end of the bearing grease cap cover.

the bearing cap on the vn vp is hard up against stub axle castle nut. bashing it in will only gain you a few millimeters of clearance and mushroom the end of your nut...

How do you come to the conclusion the offset is wrong therefore making the wheels illegal to fit? He has gone a bigger tyre, which increases the track of the car....different offsets are used to bring the cars track into legal tolerances. Track is part of what is the legal requirement.....The other part is, the wheels and tyres don't foul any suspension component

Look forward to hearing your response
