I guess all those STS kits that have proven results must be bogus. Funny that.

and i bet you the section that goes from the turbo to the cooler is tiny in diameter compared to the cooler piping to the throttlebody which would compensate for the length but still wouldnt be as efficient as having the turbo closer to the head/manifold! also the exhasut itself! if it was to big then there goes efficiency also!

Do some more research and get back to me champ :spot on:

Sts kits are mounted to large cube motors majority of the time, which does help spool times but it's still a compromise. We are talking maybe 500rpm though over an engine bay mounted turbo setup but that is on a well designed sts kit not some backyard custom job on a 3.8. And lag is not the only compromise with a rear mount setup. It's a stupid idea unless stealth is of utmost importance which for P plate rule avoidance is retarded.

Oh what the hek,
My idea (if you were to go underneath would be to add a couple of electric turbo's in line to help with the lag. :)

ITT people who still don't understand. Before discussing something like the rear mount setup rather then going off what the guy down the road told you or your mate who knows a mechanic I suggest doing some research. STS have gone to great lengths to minimise lag issues. Hardly surprising considering we now have this thing called a ball bearing turbo.

Skip to 5:50. So much lag /sarcasm. Oh and the motor is only 5 litres and standard bar the rear mount turbos.

Nice ride that,
HMMM, maybe I'll go underneath with my twin turbo setup after all.
VS commy doesn't have much room for them in the engine bay, thats for sure.
