Yer well,
Just bought a VF 2014 Sportswagon and i spend 4 months out of Australia at a time. So i thought i'd rip the battery out of the back left hand panel and connect it to float charger.
Not being familar with this model i pulled it out without disconnecting the little drain pipe on the left hand side of the battery.
This little drain directs any fumes to the exterior of the car but i've done a job on it and supposedly ripped the little drain out from the body of the car when i should of just disconnected it from the battery before pulling the battery out. ???
I'm a muppet, sorry about that as just learning about this stuff.
So whats the go regards getting this drain plug connected again.??
Not ready to check out yet with some nasty battery gas poisoning and looking for some advice.

Thanks very much.

The Muppet. Ta.

Just try and feed it back through the hole, take the battery tray out if you can(not sure with wagons)
Normally it just goes through a rubber grommet.

You want it to vent outside because the gas the battery vents is very flammable.

Yer, i sort of figured that they would not of fitted the drain if it was not required so i need to fix it. When im bak in Perth ill jack it up and have a look.
If i can't sort i suppose ill need to get my mechanic to sort it.
More money down the drain by doing **** when not fully tuned in. ????

1991 VN Wagon..2012 VE Sportwagon.
I fixed the same problem on a neighbours car.On the VE wagon, should be the same on yours, you have to take the Black Battery tray out and you will see the grommet the tube goes thru behind the rear wheel well, just feed it back thru.15 minute job.
Always disconnect the negative battery terminal first and connect last.

Na, I recon i can manage to screw the battery box out, shove my hand down the gap and push the vent back through the grommet.
