i have got a 253 v8-misses-any help

hello, just wondering if anyone out there could help me. i have got a 253 v8 in my stock car, over 6000 rpm, and it misses. set points, reved well, started up the car again and its back to missing. any ideas??

your engine is pinging......try using a higher octane fuel??? coil could be rooted....

its coz you have a points dizzy you need a elec dizzy thay wont stuff up as much and will go to like 8 9 rpm as a points tipe will stuff up at 6 or 6.5 ther abouts

have to make sure you have good plugs and leads first make sure cap has no moisture in it and contacts are clean

I personaly would'nt rev a stock 253 over 5,500 5,700 there not built for it and its probably valve bouncing when you try and go over 6,000 , with a good tune and your timing set you will get max power in that rev range
