Immobilizer issues

Hey all i have a problem with my vt spac and what it's doing is every couple days or so the imobaliser is killing the engine and taking forever to let me refire the engine I've replaced battery battery terminal key battery and still does it any ideas would be appreciated please and thanks

Are the two strips of metal around the barrel making good contact with the key head?

Why are you thinking it's the immobiliser?

do you mean the engine is stalling or just wont start after you turn it off
have you tried your spare key
when you press the remote do the doors unlock and red mode light turn off for 20 seconds
if you turn ignition to reds does red mode light turn off

it sounds more like the crank angle sensor very common

tip some cold water over it if it fires even just briefly that's the problem

it's at about 4 o'clock behind the crank balancer

The metal strips contact beautifully and because we've had similar problems with other Commodores but never to this extent

if it is stalling it is not immobilizer
as mentioned sounds more like crank angle sensor
