what impact does it have on insurance? Do you tell them about it or just pretend it was like that when i bought it?

Certainly tell your insurance company, if you had an accident whether it or not you purchased the car with the mods in place I think you'll find they'll drop you like a hot potatoe.

All goodies from FIT and tuning from BlueChip I have told my insurance company (JustCar Insurance), currently around the $900 mark, age is something which goes against me though.

Thanks guys, I agree best to tell the insurance company.

Wow $170 from what I've read it really makes a difference. :w00t: So loan of the pulley system, means fit it yourself. I've read the ten psi is good to start with. Do you have a price on getting someone to do it for you. Sorry for all the questions in someone else's post.

Takes about 30 mins to install... whatever the going rate a mechanic charges these days I dont know... I spanner most of the work on my car myself.. except for the stuff that requires a specialist.

Is it a hard job to DIY? or does it come with intructions as well?

I havent done it as yet... but it's as easy as changing a tyre !

You just need a few basic spanners to loosen off the belt and move the igniton coils... attach the puller to wind off the pulley and then press the new one on with the same tool...

Shaggerz has done it recently I think he stated there are laminated instructions included.

As sixshooter said.

It's really easy to change them over. The YT pulley tool is a dream to use.

You'll need a 15mm spanner for the blower belt tensioner. Use the spanner as a lever to release the tension on the belt for removal. Then it's just a matter of following the instructions supplied to do the pulley swap.

Good luck with it!

The YT stealth pulley looks totally stock in appearance and combined with the standard engine cover you'd never know it was modded if you didn't know the engines really well.

I fitted the F.I.T. 10psi S/Charger pulley last week to my VY. It rocks. I can say that getting the Standard Pulley off is actually quite tough work, as its pressed on the shaft with 20Tonnes. It took me around 1/2 Hr to get it off, by myself.
Putting the new Modular Hub onto the Shaft was easy. Now I can easily change the pulley size whenever I want, just by undoing the 6 small allenkey bolts and fitting another size on.
Too Easy.

P.S. A friend of mine last year tried to get the Pulley off by himself with a pulley tool from S/Cheap auto. I can just say he wrecked the pulley completely and ended up cutting the pulley off with an angle grinder. Bit messy but it actually ended up OK.
