What if any gains would be made from removing the crazy looking intake right in front of the throttle body on my non sidi sv6. And replaced it with a 90° elbow and piping straight to the air box ??? Has anyone done this mod???

It would have to improve flow as the chambers in the factory intake disrupt flow. As to whether you'd feel the improvement, probably not.

Thanks Ricey . My thoughts are your probably notice it in fuel economy and induction noise but wouldn't feel it I'd imagine. Be a worth while exercise though nothing ventured nothing gained

You want to feel a difference with your v6 with a simple mod? You should seriously look into the Stealth Controller like RevHigh.
It wont make you go faster against cars, but you will be surprised how much more you will love the car lol.

The car felt like a new car when I installed it on my first SV6.

Just curious does it affect your fuel economy somewhat?

The only reason it would, would be from having a heavier foot, because of how much different the car feels lol on 11 settings it was hard not to lose traction, a tap of the throttle just made it go.

The difference in feel is from 0 - 60 / 80 / 100 cant remember the exact speed before it just starts feeling as normal. And that stock lag you normally get seems to disappear as well.

I will be installing it on my e2 Manual soon to see if I notice a difference
