Just wondering if anyone has installed led footwell lights on a vr commodore. I want to have it wired to the accessories but have it on a switch to turn on and off. Just wondering did people wire to the cigarette lighter?

if u want them to open to the interior light so when the door opens u can splice into using that interior light wire on right side of the car

Thanks Eggy.. I am finally planing to do it today. I'm going to have it connected to both interior light and accessories. But the accessories will have a light switch to toggle on/off

sounds good mate, remember disconnect the battery before u start any electrical work otherwise you might hurt yourself or something in car. You would be surprised how many people dont do this and wonder why there stuff gets busted up. Also you could try the headlight/interior light dial switch next to the steering wheel on the right :) Good luck.

So to clarify... the LEDs will only come on when the key is switched to ACC and the door is open.

If you have it on both you will need a special switch, (3 positional)
I.e.
If you turn the footwell lights on via the switch, the entry/ curtesy lights will also turn on, as it will back feed them.
I'm at work now but I can draw a diagram later if required.

Thanks Matt. I already have a switch to kill the interior lights. (Was installed before my gf got the car) was going to wire it to that. As well as the switch of the accessories. Will I still need a three way switch?
