Even though Holden VN's etc are rebadged as Toyota Lexens they are still recognised on the V.I.N plate as Holdens......6H8 etc..........................interesting.

I put a post in the general section the other day on commodore VIN's and have just looked at my paperwork on the TOYOTA LEXEN. I think you will find that it does not matter who sells the car under what badge but who actualy built it. At least for the first couple of VIN digits.

The Camry and Apollo have the same digits at the start of their VIN's
APOLLO JK 89-91.........6T153SG2209
CAMRY SV21 89-91......6T153SV2109

and the vn

LEXEN VN 89-91...............6HV8NK19HKT
COMMODORE VN 89-91....6HV8NK19HJL

BUT ALL THE SAME...VERY COOL TO ACTUALY THINK ABOUT IT.

If anyone hase the correct way to read the vin numbers could you post it please!

here is the way to read VIN plates
for example:
6H8VXV35F1L123456 Here goes:
6H8 is World manufacturer identifier (6H8 is holden)
VX is model code
X is luxury model (K=executive,L=berlina,X=calais)
35 is body style code (69=wagon,35=wagon)
F is engine code(A=3800 V6,F=Gen 3 V8, R=3800 V6 supercharged)
1 is model year code:1=2001,2=2002 etc
L123456 is the sequential production number, also called Holden 'tag' number

mine and Maniiac VP's infomation doesnt fit. i got mine from the manual book from a VX so there ya go i didnt have ute codes or anything about pillars and production plants....anyway

Yeh i used the one from the VR becuase i thought it related to VNs a bit more than the newer models.
