My SS Fifty is looking worse for wear after 20 yrs inside the cabin (and out actually). Looking for any advice and recommendations in Melbourne for places to get the following down:
  1. - headliner / roofliner sagging
  2. - new seats? or maybe reupholstery for seats if cheaper. (going for a yellow)
  3. - plastic dash/console repair - its loose in places, rattling in others
  4. - audio. RHS speaker shaking about. could do with a general upgrade from stock.
  5. - any way to fix redundant steering wheel audio buttons with aftermarket stereo?
  6. - Windows. A little rock or something must have dropped in the slot - its very scratchy and loud going up down on one side
  7. - Windscreen replacement and window tints. Anywhere particularly good or just all the general places (like tintacar or something)? Anything specific to look out for with windshield replacements?
cheers

Upholstery places can easily do roof lining and retrim.
They can also look as various dash and console area for loose or broken parts.
Steering wheel buttons depend on how new audio works, if it can be made to work.
Speakers are an easy swap. Cheap for used originals if damaged, could be loose or damaged door trim touching.
New window seals and guides if not done, and a good clean.
Many of this can be done by limited mechanical knowledge owners, even just to identify the issues for someone else to carry out.
I prefer the smaller privately owned tint and window shops, their reputation is based on their work and not just a franchise that people pass through for work. Genuine glass and screens getting close to extinct, don't replace unless damaged, old tint can be sorted.

To retrim seats you’d be looking around $1000-$2000 dollars.
Roof lining would be around $200 give or take.
Repairs to plastic will also be expensive because of the time and skill involved.
Steering wheel buttons are completely usable with aftermarket head units, both old and new. You need the steering wheel control harness that plugs into what you have.
Car audio specialists will be who you talk to for that work if you don’t want to do it yourself.

Your best bet will be to strip out the parts yourself and take them to businesses to refresh or restore. Seats included.
Then look at mobile headliner repair places. Mobile car audio people too.

http://blackmansleather.com.au/ comes up a lot on forums.

You can still buy the factory seat covering. It’s waaaay expensive and custom retrims are the same cost and, I believe, better quality with better materials being used.

Jees seats are expensive! Really not fussed with leather though, if there's a cheaper alternative I'm all for it. Any decent places for aftermarket generic "sporty" seats?

Anyone had any specific roofliner companies that seem good?

Had the roof lining in my wife's VS Clubsport replaced a couple of months ago. Great job.
