04 WK Statesman
My '04 Statesman air bag warning came on, as I was driving into an undercover carpark a week ago, and to my dismay it came on again when starting the car a bit later. The chime sounded and then stopped, however the warning in the dash window kept flashing as well as the SRS dash light stayed illuminated.
I took it to my local Mechanic who cleared the fault, and it was fine.....................................for a week, and then it came on as I was driving up the street. My Mechanic tried once again to clear the fault to no result and said he would wait for a reply from a bloke well experienced with these issues, that was 5 days ago.

My horn works ok, and the steering wheel radio controls work ok, so can anyone please advise me wether this points to the clock spring in the steering column?

My mechanic had the drivers seat out, but was unable to find any issues there.

Any help would be much appreciated, as I dont like driving around in the car with NO airbags.:spew:

I think it means your battery is going to die pretty soon from what I have ready before.

Hey Mate,
If your mechanic had your seat out it would of set off error code
for the seat belt pre tensioner. The only way you will know for sure
is to connect car to scan tool (Tech 2) to see what codes are being
Logged.Clearing DTC codes does not fix the problem. The SRS light
does not mean the system is inactive,so don't stress just get car
looked at by good tech.Hope this helps.
