Is it safe to change

I have a 5 speed auto with a manual shift mode, is it ok to change from auto to manual whilst driving or is it better to stop and switch over?.

It’s made for you to switch over between auto and manual mode “on the fly”. Even in manual mode the computer is still controlling the gearbox as it’s only an electronic connection so if you weren’t meant to use it without stopping first then the computer wouldn’t allow you to do it.
