they are glued on afaik, horrible things.

maybe get some heat into them?

I believe heat, fishing wire, caramel wheel, luck, time and patience will get them off, its quite a long job to get it done, have a search for trolley strips, they came on many cars so chances are there is a how to.
you can also remove paint if you rush so taking your time is key.

A heat gun or hair dryer, heat them up and pull them off gently, heating as you go. You will have to remove the glue residue afterwards as well. Caramel wheel, or a citric acid based solvent.
