OK. Hypothetical question then. You love Labor so much, would YOU have voted for Andrews if you were a Victorian, knowing he planned to do this?

no need for hypothetical questions.
we both know the answer to that one. Just like if it were a liberal government proposing to do the same thing you would still vote for them. True?

Nope. No way. I'm not a rusted on sycophant, or had you forgotten? Any party presenting a **** house policy like that would never get my vote.

Until O'Farrell was forced to resign as NSW Premier last year the Liberal government here was not getting my vote. I want to see progress and new infrastructure under way. We weren't getting it while he was Premier and it looks like Victoria won't be from now on.

One more point. If you were willing to vote for Labor with a policy like that, what would it take to make you vote for someone else? Talk about rusted on!

More Victoria.

Dan Andrews, in reply to axing 7000 jobs from the East West Link said he had a Shovel Ready plan for Victoria, ready to go day 1. Here it is, well here it will be in 2018 (conveniently, the lead up to the election).

So we have replaced a road that is designed to free up suburban streets and join the Eastern and Western Freeways with a rail tunnel in the CBD.

I dont know if anyone here has visited Melbourne, but getting around the CBD is easy. There are tram stops every 50 meters. There are buses and everything is almost within walking distance. Why on earth are we spending 11 billion dollars (because its Labor it will be atleast 15 billion by the time its done) on 5 train stations in the CBD?!

“(It will be) an international-style train system where you don’t need a timetable; where you turn up and you go. That’s how frequent the services will be.”

The departure times are already so frequent we dont need a timetable!

The issue is getting INTO the city.

On the subject of the Victorian premier, he has criticized Colin Barnett on his stance of the GST. He (along with Queensland labor) have said we blew the profits of the mining boom (not true) and that we don't deserve any more of the GST but believes they are entitled to more.

Looks like WA will be paying for Victoria to not build your new highway. As it stands now, every West Australian man, woman and even child sends $1800 each over east, every year in the form of lost GST revenue.

Someone needs to learn how to read. ;)

As it stands now, you're statement is a load of rubbish.

If the proposed Commonwealth Grants Commission's plan goes through, THEN your statement will be true. But this hasn't actually happened so for the moment, get your hand off it mate.

Light rail contract 'will be torn up' if the Canberra Liberals win 2016 ACT election.

Any light rail contract signed by the ACT Government will be torn up if the Canberra Liberals win the 2016 Territory election, the party says.

In Victoria, the State Government today announced that it would pay more than $300 million to cancel existing contracts for Melbourne's East West Link.

ACT Opposition MLA Alistair Coe said that decision paved the way for his party to cancel any contracts the ACT Government signs for light rail in Canberra.

"Should the Canberra Liberals win the October 2016 election we will tear up the contracts if they are signed," he said.

The state of Vic collects more GST than it receives. Victoria is not subsidised by WA in any shape or form. As usual you make stupid statements based lacking even the most basic of research.

If that is accurate based on face value its a totally stupid thing to say and not a path any newly elected government should take willingly.

Perhaps Premier Andrews is aiming for one term only, the way he seems to be behaving?

WA has been a receiver of more tax money than it pays for most of it's history, right up to 2009. Bludging for 108 years. Yes, I'm from WA but the numbers...

If you think one side is the paragon of virtue and the other evil, which seems to be the go around here, we'll all end up disappointed I think.
