SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO its been a interesting month and a bit since my last post.

Where to start....

I ordered a set of wheels Koya SF04's staggered 20x9 +35 20x11 +43 ordered these as i was assured they would clear Brembos, was really excited also booked in for coilovers

The day I paid for my wheels is where my bad luck started, I was driving to work and my top radiator hose blew, turns out its a common fault as they use spring clamps rather than worm clamps. Took it to my mechanic had it pressure tested to be safe top it back up with fluids.

Next week I got a phone call my wheels had arrived at my house. very excited!

Opened the first 2 boxes was very happy with what i received

Then I opened box 3 and 4, to my shock, horror and disappointment both had large gouges out of them. These were brand new wheels

Call Koya they were very good about it all told me they would send me 2 new wheels.

That was great, but what was I suppose to do with the two damaged wheels at my house??

Koya didn't seem overly concerned with that. So anyway Id have 6 wheels.

Had to wait another week for my 2 replacement wheels. Now normally that wouldn't have been a bad thing but they had been organised to be painted that week but I was short 2 wheels.

Now I was under a bit of a time crunch as I had my car booked in for Coilovers 2 weeks after my first set of wheels were to arrive. Enough time to get them painted and tyres fitted so when it went in it could be set up for the wheels.

while I had the two damaged wheels I test fit them to the car, make sure they cleared the brakes. Which the damaged front did.

Finally the new wheels arrived 4 days before coilovers were due to be fitted so I decided to not bother with having them painted, I also noticed that again one of my replacement wheels had been damaged. By this point I was over the whole situation and just wanted them on the car.

So took my new wheels to go and get some tyres and have the fronts fitted the day before the car was booked in.

Bought some Nexen SU1 245 35 20, 285 30 20.

The tyre shop fitted the tyres then proceeded to mount the front wheels. im peering through the window looks awesome really happy.

Car comes off halfway off the lift. The mechanic gets out looks around, im assuming its hitting the guards. Car goes back on and all the mechanics run to the car..........

whats it hitting, its hitting the bloody brakes. but it cant be they clear...... NO the 1 front i test fitted the damaged one clears the brakes. the 2 good front wheels dont?!?!

all the exact same wheel size offset ect. Could only happen to me.

At this point I had just spent $1000 on tyres for a set of wheels that don't fit on my car.

So my next port of call was Koya demanding a full refund for my wheels.

There were some issues with this as supposedly the boss at koya was at SEMA.

Took me 2 weeks to get my full refund, but I did, eventually.

While this was all going on I had my coilovers fitted, in love best money ive ever spent

Coilovers

So spent a week or so driving around with the standard wheels

Eventually went down to FDO in Ferntree Gully. Was an absolute pleasure dealing with the guys there and got me something great for less than what my Koyas had cost me.

So i now present to you my car as it sits now

So the wheels they are Lenso Project D D1R's 20x8.5 +35 and 20x10 +40 that i had painted shadow chrome

Here are a few pics of the wheels before and during fitting

Still looks good JJ with the new wheels , shame about the koyas . Now time to wind those coils at the front all the way down , no gaps between the tyre and guards :p . rear is at perfect height

Yeah mate that sucks about the Koyas, they are a really nice wheel and would have filled out the guard perfectly with their size and offset. Owell the D1Rs still look great, I'm keen to see what else you have planned

This thing looks great mate! Not usually a fan of that style rim because they usually look a lot smaller than they are, but these look mint! Hopefully see it around the place sometime.
