haha, it took me 20 minutes of using a scraper , and 5 minutes of using a wool drill piece to shave the rest off and make it flat, at least the next owner will spend a whole week on it after i finished with it

If your using a gasket as well the gasket goo is only for any pitting etc. you should use a tiny amount and you can tighten it straight away. If you used the acid cure stuff (smells like vinegar) it cures on contact.

i just used some cheap bursons black glue, can't think of the name, comes in a small white bottle, i have some of the clear glue that smells like vinegar( i love the smell of it - sniff sniff)

car trolled me, got warm and cracked the water pump - i didn't even tighten the thing, soon as car was half temp, im like ahh.. hello timmy, i see what you did there...a crack!
- never buy cheap, you get what you pay for

put the old water pump back on with new gasket x_x

old pump was leaking from the gasket,
guess what.. i put it in again, and it must of been leaking from the pully too! fkn thing i've never hit a car so hard, i was this || close to smashing the whole car up with the hammer

im over it, gonna go back to the shop where i got it from and give them a serving, so furious right now

What do you mean you didnt even tighten it?

Why would you start a car and run it without tightening the water pump?

no I tightened it firmly, I could have nipped it up a little more, it wasn't leaking for 10 minutes, than when it got at operating temp it cracked, theres a hair line crack inside the casing beside the pulley..

either they've got it back from another customer and sold the thing as a brand new after they thought they fixed it, or, it's because it is a cheap overseas crap...
