You really shouldn't use a oil based product in locks as over time the dust sticks to it a makes it more sticky.

^^^ Yep, graphite powder only.
WD40 may work for a while, but in the long run will cause the lock to fail again quicker.

Thanks Dazz... I had already tried it last night, but it hasn't solved the problem LOL I have had a new key cut and that hasn't helped it either :S

Mate was the key cut to code, rather than been duplicated of a worn sample.

id have to say some1 has been tryin to break in ur car by the sounds of it. wat u can do it get ur lock checked out by locksmith and they should tell u wat it may be.

I've had all kinds of trouble with VN locks, so good to read all the above.
I'm just wondering how to get graphite powder into a lock. I'm surprised enough that dust can get in there.

get a soft pencil , sharpen it and draw a picture on the inside till its blunt

You can buy them in puffer packs with a thin nosle. But bear in mind graphite is not a miricle cure for worn locks or keys.
