Hey guys

Needing to get new tyres for my SV6 wagon soon, however there are no RE050 or RE003's in my size in SA, and no ETA on when they will be here

Looking at alternatives, and the Kumho PA51 has come up a few times....does anyone have these on their cars, or driven one with?

I am potentially going to sell soon, so don't want to fork out $600+ per tyre for Michelin Pilot Sport 4's. But at the same time I don't want to put rubbish on it either.

Cheers

All I can say about the Kumho PA51 is that they are round :p

Hopefully others can add some more meat to my observations :)

I recently had a set of yokohamas fitted and they have been great wet or dry.
$260 per corner.

The last kumhos i had were a bit noisy on the country roads here and that was on a ve about 8 years ago so things have probably changed since.

$600 a tyre for pilot Sport 4's..............What size tyres are you buying at that price ?
I only paid $608 for a set of 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 4's last month at Bob Jane...Size was 235/40-18
Admittedly that was with a $100 cashback promo on purchases of 4 tyres though

Yeah from what I've seen online just recently, 20's are in a world of their own when it comes to prices
Just had a quick look at the Michelins Bob Jane have on offer at present, and a few aren't far off $600 per tyre..........

The PA51 is a recent replacement for the KU22......Haven't heard any reports about them as yet, as they have only been out for 6 months maximum

20 inch tyres are common these days so I'm amazed you can't get mass produced Bridgestone's in the common type and size you're after.

Still if you are only keeping the car for a short time I wouldn't be spending money on premium tyres and would be looking to fit something cheap and let the next owner decide if they are happy with them or not.

I went pilot sport 4. On my old be Calais I went Goodyear F1. Both miles better and last longer than Bridgestone.
