2007 E1 HSV GTS Manual
People i'm looking to upgrade to either a 2008 auto R8 or a 2007 GTS manual both with about 100,000 on the clock. When i go to have a look at these cars are there any basic issues that the VE is known for that i should look out for.
Is the MRC known to fail and is it expensive to repair?
Thanks all.

Hello NU13, great cars both of them!
Most of the time it's just silly things or you got yourself a lemon.

I'd bring myself a trustworthy mechanic who knows what his doing before buying or you could get a NRMA Mobile Vehicle Inspection

Ve Hsv Problems : What Have You Had [Archive] - Australian LS1 and Holden Forums

look on forums, but dont be disheartened if the car is problematic everyone can buy a corolla and call it a day but only an enthusiast can call these "real cars"

I wish you luck my friend and hope you are happy with your purchase!

MRC only gets leaky shocks but thats no different to standard suspension and then you have the option to replace the MCR or delete it and use normal suspension anyway.

My a/c compressor just failed on my 08 HSV clubby, not a cheap fix. Also the plastics trim around the seats cracks and break easily. I just drove from Perth to the Deni ute muster and racked up 7,000ks in 10 days with no problems what so ever.

Have any selected vehicle checked by a reputable mechanic or if a member of an Auto Club (RACV, RACQ, NRMA etc) they offer pre=purchase inspections for a reasonable fee. What price PEACE OF MIND !!

Yes the MRC is prone to fail and it is expensive to replace and retain as MRC, but as ducker85 says, you can always replace with non MRC suspension.

2007 E1 HSV GTS Manual
Thanks lads. I'm keen on both cars but leaning toward the manual GTS. But then the 08 R8 is newer....but not by much lol.

I know the guys at the local Holden dealership (both cars i am keen on are a 5 hour drive south (i'm in New Zealand) and ask them for a little advice as well.
