Car was stolen and crashed at apparently “30kmh” where it hit a parked car causing damage to the front left hand side of my car. Other car was write off.
paid 4 grand at the panel beaters for new bonnet, headlight ect. Was told no major damage to the chassis.

took to a well trusted mechanic and asked him to find anything that could be wrong with the car. He repaired the front hub k frame and replaced the front two tyres aswell as a wheel alignment.
Iv noticed the steering feels drastically different from before. It’s very light and feels kind of unco. Wobbly even. Before, the car felt pretty planted around corners. The steering was nice and firm. This is all with the stock suspension and the tires had a fair bit of wear on them. I also knew the wheels were way out as every slight dip or bump would send the steering wheel centred at slightly different angle.

Just asking to see if anyone knows what could be wrong
sorry I didn’t take any photos as I was too upset to even see my car crippled like that. However I can upload copy of receipts From panel beater.

Any information I would very much appreciate thank you.
Btw it’s a 2006 VE SV6

Did the wheel alignment guy check caster settings? Did you get a report with the numbers?

Was this through insurance if not why not?
If you're paying fir this your self this is why this has happened.
Panel beaters arent suspension mechanics and only send cars to a suspension shop if the insurance company wants it there.

You need to have it looked at by a specialist shop that specialises in accident repairs and wheel alignment. It's likey the radius rod, lower arm, knuckel, strut and tie rod end on that side are bent.
The radius rod is a long bendy part that can stretch or bend easy. The knuckle is designed to bend and the tie rod end has a bend in it which like the radius rod makes it easy to bend there.

I used to do this style of work for about 7 years.

A smack on the left side of the car and only replaced the hub and k-frame......

Honestly I think you would have a bent strut, possible bent rackend and tie rod end, radius rod would be bent...Natural occurance when the k-frame is bent, for the radius rod to be bent.....Lower control arm might be bent and even the stub axle (especially having the hub replaced)

Got an alignment report to post up? Would be interested to see the KPI readings......These help determine whether the body work is bent ie where the like of struts are bolted up to the body work....

Panel beaters do check out suspension parts and replace them if they pick they are buggered....If you think about it, they aren't going to put a car on a truck to have suspension parts replaced that are broken....ie tie rod ends, radius rods or even busted racks then truck it back to finish off paint/panel work....

.Occasionally they don't pick up stuff components.....They also rarely send a crashed car to a shop to be aligned after wards too.....When they do, I have discovered rarely do they actually listen to the aligner, as it eats into their profits and delays getting the car out the door....

It doesn't necessarily have to go to a specialised suspension shop....As long as the place it goes to knows how to pick up something is bent, that is sufficient.....Aligning the car also needs to go to someone that understands how to read figures put in front of them from the machine used....

I used to align cars for a Pedders franchise, through a tyre shop I worked at...That particular franchise had big problems with their alignment machine, so I was the person spinning the spanners straightening up their cars...

The retard was my brother. So i didn’t want cops involved. So unfortunately no insurance. Just say I got all those things replaced how much would I be looking at?

Min 2500 possibly 3500.

You could do it for less with second hand parts probably near 1000.

So who payed for that written off parked car, or did your brother do a runner leaving the owner of the parked car to pick up the bill?
