Lowered springs - how stiff is your ride?

So I've got King Lows (KHRL-47) in the front of the VY V6. Stock front struts. Super firm ride. I feel every bump. Have even lowered tire pressure to 29psi. There's a whole heap of rattling and clanking going on when I drive over a speedbump, extremely slow of course.

Everyone says " you don't need shorter shocks for Low springs".

Would I acheieve a less bone shaking and teeth chattering ride if I purchased and installed shorter front shocks??

I wonder if I'm traveling on bump stops on the standard shock? My hub to guard is 345mm so it's not Superlow height....or is it? I think my strut top rubbers may be old, worn and might have collapsed after 180,000k's. This may contribute to the lower than Low height.

Does anyone have any thoughts before I consider putting the FE2 springs back in?

I'm not sure how long I can continue driving with such a firm ride.

How did you change your front springs without removing the strut tops?

King lows are pretty much the same as fe2. If your front end is really noisy, get it checked out

You need to match the strut and spring.

Struts are well past due for replacement anyway. Get some to suit the springs you have.

As mentioned, the King - low springs are fairly much the same ride height as FE2 however I do believe the King springs will be firmer.

Thanks guys. I found the King Lows dropped the ride height from FE2 by 20mm. I'll look into new struts.

ive never changed the struts in my cars, and neither have my mates. actually one of my mates did, pedders went no lube, balls deep. and it was a stiffer/rigid ride.

if your struts have let go it will be easy to tell, if you go over a bump they will bottom out and send a loud bang through out your car.

if their is rattling going on id check over bolts etc. it could be the strut top bearings. or it could be the springs havent been seated correct.

Well I couldn't handle the bone jarring, breast jiggling ride.

FE2s back in the front. King lows in the rear. Sits even, well above the legal ride height.

Super smooth ride. No more clanging or rattles.

Looked great being so low, but the firm ride got the better of me!
