Ok guys sorry for being a pain!, Looking at a camshaft upgrade, now what cam would suit my car?

VY SV8, Cat back exhaust, Auto with modded trans (Standard torque converter) and thats pretty well it.

Im after a cam with a more sound than speed. So really id just like to know whats the biggest you can with a standard torque converter?
And help is appreciated.

I had a comp 220/220 112 installed and it was great with the stock convertor, Also has a fairly decent cammed idle

anything under 224/228 you should be able to get away with, mind you it still will push a little against the brakes

You also should invest in some extractors/cats and an otr to get the most from the cam

Also Munz, what did you do when you done your cam? As in valve springs? Pushrods? double row chain? and is it necessary to get it tuned afterwards? Ive done overhead cams a few times and just not used to getting them tuned.

Yea it will push against the brakes slightly when your at a set of lights etc.

Also you will need valvesprings, pushrods at minimum and yes you will need a tune. You won't need to do the chain - this requires the engine to come out

Check this out:
its a little old but will give you an idea on which cam you could use mostly from the mild/average area would suit a stock convertor
(extreme cams are way more extreme now days)

You can't change the lift as it has got more to do with the cam profiles. LSA can be changed but that will need to be a 'custom cam' and a 111LSA sounds good and would make it more lumpy
