Long story short. My VZ LS2 (80,000) FIXED the (lots) of oil burning by running straight (cheap) 15W40 mineral oil. DON’T use semi. or full synthetic oil

Hmmmmm not really that keen on forking out for a rebuild might try installing a catch can setup see if that helps my situation
Did you ever find a solution? I have 1.5L oil use per oil change and am thinking valve stem seals to be the culprit.

Isn’t a big part of it the design of the oil breather system? In particular the oil baffle under the rocker cover. It’s design lends it self to clogging up. There are a few revisions of the design.

Ended up trading it in for my current ve but I believe the issue is with the pcv system, oil going back into the intake

New Valve stem seals is the right(easiest) place to start
