Hey all.
I got my Adventra tuned just over a week ago, its a work car, and loaded with tools and ladders weighs just on the touch of 2300kg's. When it was first tuned, the tuner and I worked closely to get the shift points how i wanted them.

In the last few days the shift points under load have become rather...booring and loose. Though the light throttle changes are how i wanted them. The WOT is almost like a stock change, unlike last week where it snapped into gear.

The Trans is 10,000 - 15,000kms old, rebuilt with beast sun shell, +20% kevlar bands, new clutches etc. Full rebuilt with some beef essentially.

Would you say these shift issues are trans related, or tune related?

I dont plant the foot all the time, maybe 15% of its driving time, but im guessing that might be too much?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
Tristen

You will need to get a trans specialist or someone with experience to have a look at it. Going mafless with an auto can destroy the trans in no time if not tuned correctly.(trans uses the maf for torque calculations etc, also line pressure is maximised by failing the maf)
Was your tuner made aware of "ALL" the parts you put into the trans ?

yup he sure was, i trust the tuner. Iv found that it only does it in "hot" conditions, so its time for a trans cooler

PWR trans cooler will set you back anywhere from $130 to $150 depending on the size of it. I'll be getting Chevo to fit mine in the coming weeks.

its very hard for a car to adjust for acceleration load.
your tuner would not account for 500kg's of tools when tuning.

i tend to think of loads as elastic gap, shift the weight and ask your box to compesate.

unload the tools out then drive....
