[LS1] Ls1 skid ute oil type

Hey guys
Just about to finish my skidder project an was wondering what everyone is using oil wise ? Brand, grade and how much ?? Was told awhile ago to use HPR15 an use about 7.5L cause its only a skid car so to keep the oil up ect ect

Nah no oil cooler for now just seeing how it's going to go, it's a ls1 with a t56 in a vr ute

i wouldn't overfill it too much, what car is it out of?

Engines out of a vy ss, has ported heads, Holley efi fast manifold, little cam, forged internals (not sure on specs)
Box is out of a Vx ss

HPR15 is actually a 15w60 Fully Synthetic
You might be thinking of the HPR Diesel 15 it's actually a 15w50 Semi Synthetic

is the sump the same as VY or did you change it for the swap

use 15w60 full syn

An oil cooler with it's own fan for cooling would be a good investment I reckon
Amount of oil to use, well everyone will have their own views. Maybe to start with, just fill it up to the full mark and let her rip while having a mate keep a very close eye on your oil pressure gauge to make sure you aren't getting any pressure fluctations
Penrite is a good aussie product, you could use the 15w60 as the other guys have suggested or maybe even look at the 15w50 ten-tenths from penrite

Yeah going to get one eventually with its own cooling fan just experimenting at the moment with it but cheers for the ideas fellas appreciate it
