Looks like the spacer has little little for mpg, perhaps made the fuel economy worse based on the figures presented,

Thanks for the data and write up. I have only recently got back into a Holden, 05 VZ wagon, so I am reading as much as I can on improvements, mods, problems etc.

Now you must be able to say if the spacer was worthwhile? Perhaps some other complementary mods would help such as exhaust or intake would help the over all performance.

What I did was , the CAI (from Mace ) first , then the 25mm spacers a bit later , better performance , yes , economy , well ...............:unsure: depends how I drive . :beer chug:

The same butt dyno , that tells me that a VZ SV6 is quicker than a VS V6 . Mind you a brick falling of a three story building would be quicker than both .

Got a few things from Mace the other day.
They had a great deal on coils so replaced them and also received the intake spacer/insulator.

I played it safe and went for the 12mm spacer.
Nice feel to it now. Worth doing.

I measured 34mm between the strut bar and the intake prior to removal but rushed it and it wasn't accurate.

Now I have the 12mm insulator installed, I could easily have got the 24mm in there.

A factory strut bar is fitted, so for those wondering how much space is under there, you can easily get the 24mm spacer in.
I don't have covers, but I think if you trimmed the covers with a gap for the strut bar, they could fit back up ok.

I will be fitting the 24mm spacer to my VE Calais soon enough.

Covers wont go on =

Its the way the covers and mounts interact .. You would need to some how raise the cover mounts the same as the manifold ..
12mm Spacer = 12mm lift and so forth ...
