I brought my body kit, but i mixed and matched. I got the vl grp a front with vk grp 3 rear and side skirts. The only thing is I scrape all over the place where I live. I think if I was to make or alter anything, it would be the side skirts...perhaps give a bit more shape to them, apart from that I am happy with my choice. Have you checked out what the standard kits are like? Then consider altering them, I have never worked with fibreglass before but had some fun reshaping the side skirts to fit around the door moulds.

Hey there slundy, Yes I do want to make it from scratch, I dont want to follow what everyone else has done...

At least that way I can make it to what I want it to be

I am going to start on the sideskirts this weekend, I have a few ideas so I will give them a go and see what happens....

Ok, the first thing to do is get some old skirts to modifiy.

Cut, chop and add to these (use wood and bog) to get what you want then

take a mould of them. (sand back with wet and dry, clean, release agent

then gel coat and then glass over. You probably all ready know that but its

good to clarifiy) Then make your skirts with the mould and bobs your uncle.

Just ask if you want anything clarifiying. BTW, what f/glass work did you do?

Hey there slundy,

Thanx for the advice I will see how i go this weekend, I have tomorrow off so hopefully can have a basic shape of what i want by the end of the weekend....

I have had experience with fibreglass through various car audio installations that i have undertaken......the only pics i have are of some door pods that i done just recently for an N14 Pulsar SSS.

I ended up getting them painted the same colour as the car......

Anyway I will let u know how i go.....cheers

I'm in the process of doing a custom bodykit from scratch myself. I drive a 1984 Corolla and they obviously don't have anything bodykit wise on the market for them. When I'm finished building the twincam engine it should be good for 14-15's so wouldn't mind it looking pretty too. I'm still on the rear wing but I'll give you the link...

I have no fibreglassing experience but will probably learn to be able to finish this.

What's your location?

Hey there craig,

I would say a manufacturer of fibreglass products would be your cheapest and best bet. Try your local phone book and see how u go.....hope this helps....
I will keep you all up to date as to how i go with the kit....as i work full time and have kids i dont have much time to work on it, so progress will be slow unfortunately....but I will get there...:D
