Mobil 1 substitute?

I have just upgraded from my SS to an 09 Clubsport R8 Tourer (LS3) and on the Oil cap it says ''use Mobil 1 SAE 5W - 30 oil'. I'm having trouble finding it in my local auto stores. I was just going to use Castrol Edge 5w - 30 ( witch i used in my SS) do you think it will be fine in the LS3? or any other ideas?

My mercedes used to run on mobil 1 5w 30.
the last time i got it serviced at mb parramatta, they put in shell helix ultra +
It meets mercedes specs, as well as porsche and bmw.
im thinking about using it for my next service on my L98.

i use the Nulon in mine found it copes with the oil temps better than the mobil

Yes, it will be ideal, however if you can, get the edge 5w-40 (repco) as its SN rated, as opposed to the 5w-30 which is SL rated., I usally wait until its on special.

Castrol edge made my L98 noisy. I personally wont use it again.

You dont NEED to use Mobil Oil.

Being an 09, its out of warranty so just use any oil within spec.

HPR5 or Nulon 5-30/40 are common choices for the engine.

I personally like HPR5 and recommend it for people at work etc.

I thought it better than the Mobil on my old SII SSV
(plus its cheaper as well)

Yeah thats the standard supply for any VE that I used to sell oil for.
