Wasn't really sure where to post this so I thought I'd just do it here..

Does anyone know if it's possible to run welds on the walls of the Exhaust inlet of a turbo and then grind it smooth to decrease the diameter and make the turbo spool quicker?

It might be a dumb question but I'm having some serious turbo lag and need to do something about it lol
It's not for a commodore btw it's for my little turbo excel project... But I thought I'd ask here seeing as though I'm already a member ignite forum...

Any other ideas the help the turbo spool quicker would be great to hear too...

Thanks guys

That wont decrease lag, it will just create allot of back pressure in the exhaust manifold, you'll need a smaller exhaust housing.
What turbo is it, and how big is the engine?

Oh okay... I thought it would lol

It's a t28 0.42 a/r compressor and 0.86 a/r exhaust housing...
It's on a 1.5l sohc Hyundai engine
It's making good power.. But it spools very slow and i don't get full boost which is 12psi for now until about 4500 revs..

I knew it was gonna be too big when I bought it but I couldn't find one with a smaller exhaust housing.. It's just a cheap turbo off eBay..
I'd get a smaller housing for it but i don't know where to get one from and I'm not sure if a genuine Garret one will fit..
