My Auto One experience

Chasing a rope and mast for the VS and one of the calls was to Auto One:

Me - Yeah g'day mate, have you got a rope and mast for a VS Commodore power antenna?
Auto One - What year?
Me - '96
Auto One - Sedan or wagon?
Me - Sedaaaan, why?
Auto One - V6 or V8?
Me - ummm V6...
Auto One - That's Holden or Ford?
Me - Are you serious? Holden!
Auto One - Sorry, Ford does make a '96 VS as well!
Me - Do they know that? Might want to tell them, they don't seem to realize it
Auto One - Do you need this part or not?
Me - Sorry, hard day you know. Yeah I do and after that I need a right side passenger mirror for my '82 Great Wall Cherokee
Auto One - Diesel or petrol?
Me - *Click beep beep beep beep

Mate, they're entering that info into a computer as you give it to them. I imagine there's some enthusiasts who work at places like that (none near me though) but for the most part they're trained monkeys.

Their computer needs some info before it tells then the part number or they give you the wrong bit
If you are complaining about these sorts of things, take your car to a mechanic, you can't strip the bolts then...

The last auto one I went to used a big book not a pc but you must have missed the part where he said ford made a vs anyone normal would know that is false lol
