Having moved in the recent past, like for like, much lower.
Pre-pound bombing, based on exchange rates, I earn about half as much again as I did in the UK in a like for like role.

But cost of living is more in Aus, especially in cities.
$7 for a pot is not even London beer prices.

Interesting, I always thought the cost of living over there was much higher as were the salaries / wages.

Minimum wages say a lot.

UK just went up (by 10%!) to GBP10.90/hr (11.90 in London)
Aus is $21.38/hr.

You'd have to get to almost 2 dollars to the pound for equity. Its currently at 1.67....
